The Caribbean Regional Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (CRN+) is the leading regional network devoted to supporting community action on HIV and AIDS in the Caribbean . CRN+ is dedicated to raising the awareness of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) within the Caribbean primarily through advocacy, lobbying and sensitisation strategies. CRN+ is currently accepting applications from highly motivated and innovative individuals to fill the following position:
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
The successful candidate shall possess the following minimum qualifications and competences:
Degree in Social Sciences with a health related focus or in Public Health
A minimum of three (3) years training/practical experience in project monitoring and evaluation or research programme management on HIV/AIDS or health related projects desirable
Excellent analytical and communication, both written and oral, skills
Good work ethic and commitment to working within a team
Core belief in non-discrimination in all areas.

I. Job Overview
JOB SUMMARY
Designation:
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Reports to:
Manager Operations
To design and implement a monitoring and evaluation system for CRN+ that will enable the organisation to track accomplishment of activities and their impact on people living with HIV/AIDS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities
Working with technical experts from outside the organisation, design a monitoring and evaluation system that will track activities across all of CRN+ programmes
Train CRN+ staff, Board, Networks and collaborating agencies on the principles and practices of monitoring and evaluation with particular emphasis on M & E as a programme management tool
Collect M & E data and prepare reports as required for CRN+ management, the RCM and donors; ensure that the monitoring results are reviewed regularly with the programme staff to ensure effective decision making and improved programme design and implementation
Work with Monitoring Team of the RCM to review programme results, assess progress, identify problems and agree on solutions; innovate new M & E systems and projects to continuously improve the work of CRN+ ; verify the efficacy of the M & E methodologies on the performance of projects/programmes
Maintain working professional relationship with donors and RCM and remain updated on their M & E reporting requirements
Provide technical advice and assistance to members of CRN+ staff, networks and others on issues and questions related to monitoring and evaluation of programme activities and results
Perform any other duties as required within the purview of this post
II. Skills/Knowledge Applied
FORMAL TRAINING OR EDUCATION
Degree in Social Sciences, Project Management or other related field
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of three (3) years training/practical experience in project monitoring and evaluation, research programme management or experience working on performance-based grants and contracts
Experience training others on principles and practices of monitoring and evaluation
Appreciation of the institutional, governmental and cultural framework within which CRN+ operates
ABILITIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Sound working knowledge and technical competences in research, monitoring and evaluation principles, methodologies and practices and proficiency with data analyses
Good understanding of M & E as a management tool;
Ability to conceptualise, design and produce reports for management and donors
Excellent analytical skills especially related to problem solving and systems thinking
Ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities whilst being flexible and versatile in order to contribute to evolving work situations and take initiative
Excellent oral, written and strong interpersonal communications skills
Good command of computer programmes and their applications with familiarity with capacity to utilise accounting software capable of producing reports to comply with donor requirements
